What program do you use to read temps. I read somewhere that a lot of the programs don't read ivy bridge chips correctly.

i used realtemp and ai suite, both had similar temps.

unlike the other guy, as soon as prime stops, my temperatures drop straight to 40

My 3570K is clocked at 4.2GHz and 1.2v. I use CM 212 EVO with Noctua NF-F12 PWM fan. My temps goes up to 65C running Prime95. IntelBurnTest can get it up to 75C.

Yeah I would try reseating the heatsink like the other guy said. What are your temps at stock speeds?

well i can tell ya a fan just pulling is never a good one fan option you should have it blowing if ya only have one fan on it and i can tell ya a push pull does work pretty good on the 212

i did have a push pull on it, but i took out the fan because i'm running at stock atm and the other fan is really loud.
but even with push/pull my temps are still very high

alright so i switched 2 of my case fans to ap-15s and i got 2 more ap-15s push/pull on my hyper 212+
max. temps on aida64 is 80 running 4.6ghz at 1.36vcore.
i tried for 4.7ghz and went up to 1.4vcore and it wasn't stable
is it worth it to keep going? or should i stay with the 4.6?

I think the 4.6 is pretty good. You aren't going to notice any difference. You can keep trying if you are just trying to benchmark though.

I'm impressed. The heat doesn't seem to be quite as bad as people made it out to be when ivy was first released.

Jj from Asus recommends max v core of 1.325 to 1.35v. If you are just gaming I would keep it at 1.30v and whatever oc you can get. After watching this video I am gonna get rid off prime95, and LinX, I used the a lot!
