Prime95 Overheat question

i5 2500k (4.3 Ghz)
Gigabyte z68a mobo
H50 set up as push pull config
Kingston 2 x 4Gb ram (1600)
ATI 5750
OCZ 550 Watt

My idle temperatures are usualy 30-33. When i ran prime95 it suddenly jumped from 30 to 90 within seconds. After i stopped the test the temperatures instantly went back to 30. (Also it makes a humming noise ONLY when prime95 is running)

So my question is what is causing the humming sound and would i need a bigger PSU or new cooler?

Reseat your CPU cooler, its not seated correctly.

I did read somewhere that liquid coolers take a bit of time to equalize temps due to there design,but jumping to 90 does not sound right,btw is your pump below your rad? if not it should be.

I used to run an h-50 on an i7 950@ 1.42v, was 73C max, and it took 5-6 hours to creep up there while folding@100%. (OCZ freeze tim, 3300RPM delta fan)

That and reapply TIM too. just a little blob in the centre of the cpu is all that is needed.

You could have Coil whine comming from either the board or PSU that is only evident when its loaded.
Is your PSU a New OCZ model or one of their older ones?

As for Temps, My H50 doesn't do that and I have a much Hotter running CPU.
I don't see 58 LOaded max.
Clean the paste off and re-seat it.
