Welcome to the forums and if you are running a HP machine more than likely all those overclocking features are disabled in the BIOS. What model of HP computer do you have? I use to have a Pavilon a420n and all the overclocking features were locked. HP gets Asus as well as other motherboard manufacturers to manufacturer the boards for them, they are usually based off of existing boards. For instance the board in mine was Asus A7V8X-LA which was similar to the Asus A7V8X-MX. I tried flashing the BIOS to a BIOS for the A7V8X-MX but the BIOS wouldn't work.

How large is the HP tower you have. If you can you afford it you might be able to put a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L in the case. The board is around $90 and is a great overclocker. But chances are your case will only fit a mATX board in there.

Unfortunately, the chances of overclocking one of the brand name box computers are pretty slim. Bios OC is out, I've even tried software OC on a couple of HPs, and consider myself lucky that I was able to reload the OS. :)

A word of caution on the bios as well...... You may find that the motherboard is a branded model motherboard (like ASUS or MSI), but should resist the urge to try to flash a different bios onto it unless you know for sure that it's going to work. HP, Compaq, Acer, etc..... use branded motherboards which often have the same model#s of retail boards, but don't follow the same spec, so flashing with a different bios will turn your tower into a relatively expensive paper weight.
