overclocking for fun

Ok i am looking at buying a board and a few chips just to play around with there overclock. Now all i need is the board and some chips so what i am looking for is well i think an am3+ board cause i will be able to use am3 cpu's in it ??? correct but i also need some advice on what am3+ board to buy,

Now before anyone says you should grab socket 1155 i have had ever Intel sockets in the last 4 years.
( besides 2011 ) Which i think i might pass on and i have overclocked the crap outta of all there chips but now since you need a k series chip there's not many chips to play with.

so my goal here is too have as many chips with a good board just to play with, suggestion anyone

Asus Crosshair V Formula and the Sabertooth 990FX are both excellent boards based on the reviews I have read... Reasonably priced as well at around $200.

I know you have said you owned Intel for a long time but there is literally a hundred+ different chips for 775. There are a number of very excellent boards out there and the chips are rock bottom cheap (except the still relevant Quad 775s). Just a thought don't know if you did a lot of overclocking when they were current. Just a thought.
