question about prime95

hi, when people say they run prime95 for 24 hours, does that mean 24 hours straight?

if i run for 10 minutes straight do i run thaht long?

i run 20 min of linx 20 min of prime n then test a game

i use to run prime for 8 hours but then poof game crashes lol

hahaha i listened to zsamz and went to test sc2 after 5 hours of prime95. and it froze on loading screen...

yes i do 24 hours on finals. On 64 bit version try this.... found it on the internet

if you want to do quick checks try custom box ticked, set number of torture tests to run likely 4(if quad) threads

torture test settings:


Min FFT size(in Kb) 1344(other test 1792) Max FFT size(in Kb)1344(other test use 1792)


Run fft's in place(no tick) Memory to use(in MB) 6500 for 8gig

Time to run each FFT size[in minutes] 1

For the 2nd test just change the KB numbers to:

Min FFT (size in KB)1792 Max FFT (size in KB) 1792


Notes for memory numbers to use:

6500 for 8gig
2500 for 4gig
Do each test for 15 to 20 minutes
if it fails either likely not going to run 24 hours stable, not guaranteed but its a way qicker way of seeing how close you are-+
