Question Q8400 Overclocking

So im updating this post since i changed some thing in my pc:

Mobo:Gigabyte ep43-ud3l
GPU: HD 6870
CPU: intel q8400 3.30 ghz stable i want to get it
CPU Cooler: Corsair h50
ram:8 gb ddr2 800mhz
hdd: Samsung spinpoint f3 1tb 7200rpm
PSU: Corsair TX 650 W

So first thing is how could i improve the performance. I did try and overclock the cpu and i does it great, but the thing is if i overclock it to lets say 3.30 it runs fine but on 3.40 it wont boot. What voltage for 3.40 or 3.6 if possible i heard that Q8400 can go up to 1.45v.
Thanks for answer.

My System Specs

You'll need to bump up the voltage too get it stable.
And use 2 fans in push-pull on your H50 drawing in cold air.
