got it running 2.0 for memory, so thats 1:1... 378x9 for 3.4ghz.. should be good for me i guess... 1.365v.. +0.3v for the ram, +0.1v for the fsb, northbridge. and pci-e.. runs stable.. had orthos going for 5 min so far.. no errors. but i think im gonna run it for longer when i go to bed tonight.. theres a totally seperate problem im running into that i think has to do with my freaking headphone amp shorting out my xfi and causing my pc to reboot... my xfi doesnt work ne more.. no sound whatsoever.. and i unplugged the wire going from my xfi to my headphone amp, and plugged my headphones directly into the xfi.. when i got back up and checked the screen.. the pc had restarted...sound doesnt work now.. i think i might have to replace it.. might have touched the wire that was plugged into the amp onto my case.. u think my headphone amp has some sort of short circuit coming from it? or is my xfi just screwed? i mean i can still see it under device manager (unless thats just a driver) but i cant hear ne thing... |

Take out the sound card, we'll troubleshoot later. In order to be called "stable", an oc'ed computer has to run Orthos for 12 hours.

k well ill try overclocking again tonight and running orthos.. but for now im leaving it at stock.. no sense in running overclock if i cant test it properly with orthos right away.. whats weird is.. my bios used to have default timings of 5-7-7-24 for my ram.. suddenly its 5-5-5-18 now... i think i might have had stability issues because of hte 5-5-5-18 at 3.4ghz.. i really dont think my cpu can be overclocked with those low of timings.. and with a 2.0 multiplier i can get like maybe 800mhz ram... either i run a 2.5 and ignore the 1:1 ram divider or just leave everything stock and have 1066mhz, which is essentially what i want.. |

Tumdace - been doing a little research on other sites, apparently this is not an uncommon problem for people to be unable to change FSB's on Giga-byte boards. It is usually solved by unplugging the system and removing the CMOS battery for 20 minutes or more, then resetting the bios using the clear CMOS jumper. Why so long? to make sure your power supply capacitors are totally discharged and are not trickling power to the board. The load optimized settings and try adjusting from there. Give this a shot, see if it works.
