I'm not completely sure, but I think if I recall correctly, it doesn't make much of a difference. It can make some difference depending on the timings and speed but not much is what I gather.

Only a very slight increase in speed going from 7GB RAM to 12GB RAM (8 DIMMS total for both RAM configs, and both tests were done after reboots as well as having the same background tasks), but yea shaved a decent amount of time off using wPrime 1.55.

7GB -

32M - 8.283s
1024M - 252.562s



12GB -

32M - 8.223s
1024M - 250.208s
