Default Water cooling fluid question

I've got a bottle of FluidXP running through my system and i want to do some changes. I know im going to waste a bunch of fluid because im a terribly messy person and i only have "just" enough fluid to run through what i have. My question is, if i add water to the fluidxp will it cause problems within the system? any adverse effects (other than maby causeing the fluid to become somewhat conductive) I'll prolly only need to add just a wee little bit to top up the reservior.

Do not use tap water. You don't want to introduce any little buggies into the system. Use distilled water (condensed from steam, no extra minerals, bacteria, etc) available at drug stores. 4L jug is like $3.00.

Just a suggestion.

Nothing else? I thought you'd want to add some additives to that or do you change so often nothing builds up hahaha

ok, sounds good :D as always, thanks for the info. a quick side question, is there a "wrong" way to run the fluid through the cpu block? i had it goin one way, but i dont think its cooling quite as good as it should... its only about 10 degrees cooler with water than it was with my zalman

Usually block have the intake smack in the middle, and the outlet on one side. What's your setup?

Water vs Air you'll see anywhere between a 10-15 degree difference under load.

So if I'm seeing 70' under load now and went with water I could see temps of 55-60 under load which of course allows me to go further.

But this also depends on pump, rad, block, fluid, fans etc.
