Default q6600 vs e8400

I want to set up a test or benchmark test using different apps to do a comparision.

Apps will be said to do benchmarks and I and someone else (who wants to volunteer) will run the same apps and post our findings.

Anyone up for this?

What do you have in mind? Speeds, ram, timings.

I'm thinkin overall cpu performance tests.

I know the quad has of course 2 more cores than a e8400 but I'm curious how they fair against each other.

Like is there an app that will really test the overall performance of a cpu?
