Samsung is famous for it's crappy caps in it's PSUs for computer LCD panels. Mind you, once you recap them they usually run.

I'm recapping a 245BW now and digikey sent my caps and resistors in about 40 hours from the time I submitted the order.

Yeah, they seem to either have CapXon or Samwha which are also pretty bad. Wow, you're lucky! It takes about a week to get my stuff from Digikey so I order a lot of stuff at once.

All these are Samwha - the black marks on top are from my felt marker.... Just marks to make sure I don't miss ordering a cap

The 3 resistors in the foreground are burnt and in the cluster of caps on the right side the two leftmost are domed.

Mind you all of them are probably bad. I don't even test, I just shotgun them all with new panny FM or FC's

Before you place your order, check all of the fuses and the MOSFETs on the back (depending on the pcb revision). I have two Samsung IP-35135 boards, one A and one B, both with different parts that failed.

My A board has a blown MOSFET, and my B has a blown Picofuse.

Lots of details can be found on Badcaps.net

It fired right up after the resistor and cap swap.

Unfortunately I had to reuse the large 450v cap because I screwed up on the replacement - I got 30mm tall, not 30mm wide. D'oh!

The cap tests at the right capacitance, but I have no way of knowing ESR at this point.

zoob: I've been on badcaps.net for a couple years now...

More dead CapXon from a Samsung monitor and unfortunately some dead Ruby's from an Intel 775 board :( it had 30,000 running hours though and terrible air flow

Pic #1: Dead Ltec from a Dell PSU, LiteON OEM
Pic #2: Bulged JEE caps from a Sun Pro. Almost all of them were domed or leaking
Pic #3: Popped YC caps from yet another terrible L&C, all of them were bulging
Pic #4: Wow...look at all those dead Sacon's. Big surprise!

Ironically all these dead cap threads reinforce is you get what you pay for.

You buy a high quality board/PSU etc etc, you are usually golden. Otherwise, see above.

Exactly These are just components that I see come in at work.

Fixed a dead Samsung 701N. Replaced the bad bulgy Samxon caps, replaced two SP8M3's as per a thread about the IP-35135A PSU... Woohoo! Excuse my SMD soldering. I had my hot air pencil too hot and separated the layers by accident...
