Default Power Supply Question

So yeah, i've just check my PSU information sticker and i have 4 rails of 16amp each....

i've read somewhere those we're to worst for overclocking right ?

i've check local and they have a Coolermaster Silent Pro M1000 / M850 Modular with a Single rail of 80amp

So either 850W or 1000W which would be best for OC / Gaming and BTW only 20$ Difference between both

Silent Pro M 1000W - Cooler Master

Would this help me out a little ?

thanks

P.S Replacing PSU is my next priority since my i getting loud as hell :(

I'd go with either of those, before buying a CM PSU.

Enermax Revolution 85+ 920W Power Supply (80+ Silver Certified) (ERV920EWT) | Canada Computers
Enermax Revolution 85+ 1020W Power Supply (80+ Silver Certified) (ERV1020EWT) | Canada Computers

I used the 920W with the SR2 I had, great PSU.

Don't worry about them rails. The 'max 920W ran perfectly while folding on the SR2 (100% load, on 2 CPUs). But if you really want single rail, I'd go with the Antec AX750 / AX850.

The PSU you chose is a 2009 Bronze model. You don't need 1kW for your rig, and as of today there are far better units efficiency-wise than the 850W. For example the Enermax's I linked.

Question, why do you need that much power for a power supply? Are you planning on running 2-3 cards, if not you're essentially wasting your money as one card will never require a near 1kW psu
