OK, got hitched up for a bit tere, was getting random resets, even though Orthos ran fine for 10+ hours (when it wouldnt reset).

Turns out it was a windows update issue, it updated 3 drivers (LAN, printer and monitor, not sure which was the issue) one of which was BSODing me...

un/reinstalled them from manufacturers sites and ok so far.

3.4 is 10 hours stable

3.6 seems to take too much voltage, seems I hit the same wall as before with the e2180, Under a 1GHz o/c is fine on stock voltage, anything at or above 1GHz is only doable with a TON of Vcore (if at all).

any ideas?

Yes, NB +0.3V
FSB, yes; PCI no - I don't use this setting.
VCore Set. Actual depends on the droop.

Default Northbridge?

Have you increased the Northbridge voltage as well at 3.6?

I have to put up it to 1.4 and raise the RAM volts too to keep the same timings.

Other than that are you running memory 1:1. Maybe the MB not the cpu. The Asus P5KE seems to a lot of the work for you at higher FSB's once you set a few bios options but I don't know about other boards.

I have tried upping a tenth, but it made no difference so I didnt try more, I am not going for a "all voltages to max" o/c, I want a stable, cool running rig that will last a while.

I was also going to try a balls out run for SAG's but thats not panning out either.

The 6750 does POST ant ANY speed, hell I tried 4.2, posts fine, just windows issues, the 2180 would not even post above 3.0

Default yea i dont like risks

Im not one to push things too much myself, but I know 1.4v is fine with good case cooling. anyway I think youve got an FSB wall problem with the MB rather than issues with your chips....that is if the E2*** was crapping out at a similar FSB as this one does.
Anyway 3.4 is plenty for all but an insane SLI system!

I hear you, 3.4 is prolly where its going to stay, it hauls ass, its GPU limited right now for sure, but still plays bioshock at full settings (did with the 2180 also...)

The 2180 crapped out abouve 2.8 (10x multi), which is only a 280FSB, the 6750 craps out around 3.5-3.6, which is 425-450FSB (8x mulit), so, much different fsb-wise.

I think I will just leave it, and may try for a balls out run this weekend, but I am still unsure as to how high I should go Vcore ( and other V) wise...

Vcore max. 1.5V
VNB: max
Vmem: 2.1-2.2V

Just add a fan close to the NB you'll be fine. My 3 rigs run 24/7 with those voltages, except Vcore at 1.4875. The Gigabytes are very sturdy.

So VNB means +0.3?

FSB and PCI max?

And is that Vcore SET, or ACTUAL?

Yup.
FSB only, I don't use the PCI-E setting.
VCore is as Set; actual depends on the droop.
