posts just fine at 4.0 (500x8), bu windows BSOD's

tried up to 1.450v and stopped bothering

I would love to try a different PS, the Vcore is always0.05 less than set, plus a big droop on load. 1.45 Vset is 1.41 Vactual, and 1.38 Vload

I thought Vcore was regulated b the mobo, but I guess PS could affect it (shouldn't)

Have you raised the NB volts? And I would try 1.475V VCore...

That vdroop your talking about is probably not your PSU....I suggest checking online if you can find something like a pencil mod for your motherboard. Try reading this thread.

Good luck!

We are far from being Electrical Engineers and in no way will I modify my board.... if it droops, then too bad.

I never really thought it was my PS, its job has VERY little to do with Vcore, if it was spastically unstable with huge ripple etc I could say maybe, but supplying enough juice for a cpu that takes under 2Vcore is a cake walk, its the mobo VRM that deals with that.

Now having said that, I do think that Vdroop/offset is important, especially after seeng that AA article, but I think it is a tad excessive. How do I know how much is too much? Should I be going off settings or actual voltages, idle or load values? I know I should not push it past the high 1.4's but I could set it at 1.58v and get a Vload of under 1.48...

argh...

I will see how 3.4 at stock Vcore goes, and go for 4.0 again tonight, it posts perfectly so I have hope :)

Hell, I have a nice shiny diploma on my wall in Biomedical Electronics Engineering Technology and it makes "pencil" modding even less appealing!

You cant get a specific value out of it and the value changes over time.

I feel a BIOS revision could help, but that aint up to me...

You don't have to be an EE...fanatics/enthusiasts push the envelope in any hobby. Sometimes we have to take risks... and be brave/stupid(actually a mix of both).
