My System Specs

Default i7 920, gtx 460 x2 OC

Hey guys,

I'm fairly new around here, I came by to check out the BST section to see what kind of upgrade I could get my hands on for a discount. From there I got interested in the contests and fell in love with a few of the mods happening in the worklog section. And now I find myself lurking around these forums quite a bit so here my first constructive post.

I'm relatively new to overclocking and I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't done my homework and have no clue what half the setting in the bios do. But I got an i7 920 and a asus P6X58D-E bundle used from Xeven and I've been abusing it to no end without a single BSOD. So here is what I've accomplished:

System:
ASUS P6X58D-E
i7 920 D0 under a Noctua nh-d14
4gb G.skill ripjaw 1333mhz 7-7-7-21 rated (dual channel on a x58 )
xfx 850w PSU
MSI GTX 460 1gb cyclone x2 in SLI
OCZ vertex 60gb (not sandforce)
HAF 932 case

OC achievements so far:

At first I was running the i7 a little hot at 1.35v 3.9ghz (190bclk) folding at 77c, but I decided to see if I could maintain the overclock with lower voltage.

So I found I could get 4 ghz stable at 1.25v with ease and this dropped the temp to roughly 65c folding.

Then I wanted to see what I could pull in vantage with my two gtx 460s OC'd to 900mhz @ 1.087v 57c and I achieved:

My current goal is to do some reading on ram timings as my 7-7-7-21 1333mhz ram is currently running 9-9-9-24 1535mhz and I'd like to see if I can get stable at lower timings again.

I'd love any feedback you guys can give on how I can improve my overclocks and/or temperatures. Or if there are any benchmarks you would like me to post.
