Question Peak Power Draw on Vantage

I did a couple of Vantage runs a couple days ago, heard the APC 1500 UPS let out a warning during benchmark Test #6...Peak Power draw of 903 watts.
Has anyone experianced these kind of draws during their benching?
Broken down its 55 watts for monitor and a pair of external drives, plus 350 watts for the computer running at 4.4ghz Most of the tests it was floating around 600-750 watts.

well, two 5970's will pulll ~600 watts under the worst case scenario soo....with a hungry hexa and other parts + some clocking you could pull quite a bit

it's funny yesterday while benching my 980x @ 1.6v + 580 @ 1.175, i've seen 750w on my killawatt
so i guess a quick peak of 900w for 2x5970 is perfectly in the norm, vantage is pretty taxing gpu and cpu.

once you start ocing the 980x the power usage really start to fly, and even more as the CPU gets hotter.

_dangtx_

It is a discontinued and lighter version, makes sence it was whining, its rated at 865 watts

APC BACK-UPS XS 1500VA LCD 120V RETAIL

It works great for filtering and gives me a solid 5 mins to abandon ship in a power outage.

I really didnt want to have 220 wired into the computer room...yet.

Fm stuff tends to push things, I've hit my peaks running their benches. Pull the monitors off the backup and save a 100w or so.

I would like to correct the OP to let them know that Watts is a measurement of Power not Current. Watts is Voltage times current.
