Okay, based on this first gamut of answers:

- I will begin by testing out my 480 at a *relatively* low, definitely stable OC, something like 800/1600/2000. Then, get Furmark, Vantage, test, see where temps are, then raise memory OC and see how high I can go with PURELY memory OC before freezing/crashing/etc. I will get a number or a small range from this.

- Then, I will test GPU/Shader clocks against those numbers, see performance with this, potentially higher memory from higher GPU clock, don't know but it's all experimentation.

- Thinking of buying a CM V6GT cooler. After that comes I'll run the hell out of it and see how I can OC, of course only within stable ranges. Then go back to GPU, see how that goes.

3DMark Vantage and FurMark will be basically what I'm gonna be using to test. As for CPU stability, the usual Prime95 should work.

Quick update - Bought a Hyper 212+ because it was on sale for $20 and is a damn good cooler to boot, So I opted for that over a V6 GT. Next time I decide to upgrade cooling *will* be W/Cing, if not *AT LEAST* a Megahalems. Tonight I'm gonna start OC'n CPU; I'll probably do GPU later tonight or tomorrow. As for now, the 212+ works great. Stock speeds, running Prime95 Large FFT's and it's running at <60C on all cores (closer to mid 50's), and idles in low 40's. Using some MX-4 as thermal paste. I dunno about my TIM job, it was my first time on an HDT cooler. I'll experiment with different thickness/applications/amounts or whatever later. Also, I noticed it sits a teensy-weensy bit crooked on my CPU, I'll have to fix that later. For now though, it freakin' WORKS.

GPU RESULTS WILL BE IN MONDAY NIGHT LATEST. Sorry, I got homework to worry about and a job to buy plastic and silicon to add to my heap of plastic and silicon, as well as fuel for my damn car.

Side note - Waiting until after Christmas for 580's. Hopefully catch one on boxing day?

Just wondering, what cooling are you guys using to keep your GPU's so darn cool? As soon as I put my 480 to 1.05v and run Kombustor stability test, 32XQ AA and Direct3D 11, within 2 minutes I am sitting at 91C. It idles at about 48C-50C. So I am really wondering how you guys keep your cards so cool.
