Default first-time OC

Hello everyone!

I finally decided it was time to give the cpu a boost- been doing a fair amount of research (thanks to several threads here and a couple other sites) and built the rig myself over a year ago. Running a GA EP45 UD3L with an E8400, 8 gigs 800 KVR.

Got her up to 3.6GHz just by increasing CPU freq to 400 Mhz and changing the system memory multiplier to 2.0- no voltage changes whatsoever. 24 hr stable with prime 95 running small.

At this point I was just wondering if I should continue to stress either large or blend, OR should I be good to go for some manual stressing (gaming)....

Any opinions appreciated in advance...

Cheers

8400 can do 4.0 without breaking a sweat

You'll find with those chips they require very little voltage to make 4.0 stable.

if you run a small fft and blend test and things seem good for a few hours.. try bumping it more.

yeah sorry.. kinda noob of me...

I've got a customized thermaltake case, a 750W cooler master PSU, a couple extra case fans, a noctua nh-c12p cpu cooler and a zerotherm coolmaxx 2000 on my 9800GT 512.

Temps on the cores topped out at 62 with realtemp during the 24hr prime95 test on small.

I'll post some pics of my case- it should get a few laughs!
