Default How do i know if voltage is too high or low?

I've been trying to overclock my 6850 past 905/1095 (already a nice overclock).

how do i know what voltage is too much or too high?

i'm trying to get past stock voltage, but having never done that, i don't know the best way to do it without damaging the cards.

how do i do it?

Do i set the voltage higher, then incrementally increase the clock speeds?

How can i tell what caused a crash? if it was voltage too high, or low?

around 1.4 should be a cap. some have pushed it more i think but the resulting temps will be...baad

btw run benches or have something looping, if it starts throttling youll see fps decrease past the point of (no) return

exemple : ASUS Radeon HD 6850 Direct CU 1 GB Review - Page 31/32 | techPowerUp

for everyday use, maybe 1.3. 1.325 or so
