Let's play a game about my new build, this or that?

I have a bunch of spare parts and want to buid a PC that will be for video storage/ripping, mild HTPC duties (divx playback, maybe HD later), and for me to play with o/c case modding etc.

I already built the rig in my sig, but was so my wife had a nice PC while I was "playing" in the media room, I tried o/cing it and the 2nd time I killed a hard drive, so no more for now.

So here is what I have, things in (brackets) are things I am thinking of buying:

mobo: XFX 680i LT

CPU: P4 520 2.8ghz or (e2180 $100)

RAM: OCZ gold 6400 or Crucial Ballistix 8500

Case: HP Pavilion a630n or nMedia HTPC 300SA

PS: Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w or (Corsair 520W $120)

HDD: 2xWD 250GB sata 16MB or (one more 250 & RAID 5 $80) or (2x250 RAID 0 & 1x500gb storage $100)

CPU cooling: A/C freezer 7 pro or scythe Katana II or (ninja/??? $35/$$$?)

anything I missed? I am going nuts making decisions, and have changed my order with NCIX 3 times on a few parts over this build, I need help, I will do a full worklog on it as soon as I get the parts

I'd go for the E2180 over the P4 any day.

The rest doesn't really matter much though. I suppose the 8500 RAM would give you some more headroom for overclocking.

E2180 definitely with the AC7 Pro.
Crucial 8500.
nMedia case.
Antec 500W.

HDDs.... just in case something goes wrong again, I would install the OS on a 40Gb HDD, and use the 2x250Gb as storage drives and disconnect them when playing with an overclock. Just a thought.

Would I be losing out on much by using my 20gb 5400rpm maxtor?

Its IDE as well...

but I like the idea of disconnecting them during an overclock...

As fo rthe power supply, unless there is a real problem with the antec 500w I am going to stick with it.
