Vertex 2 120GB vs Vertex 1 60GB Just a quick comparison of CrystalDiskMark: Vertex 2: http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...ertex2-120.png http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...ertex2-120.png Vertex 1: http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...arks/after.png http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...o-vertex60.png I think it's self-explanatory :bleh: |
4k write = :bananafunky: |
Yea, I just got my Vertex 2 120 in last night and put Windows 7 onto it. http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...r-troopers.jpg Just wow. |
yeah whats up with the 4k lol |
Added some ATTO too to the first post. Granted I am comparing them on totally different platforms and chipsets. The Vertex 60GB is in my laptop (XPS m1330) with ICH8. The 120GB is in my desktop with the ICH10R. That may give an advantage to my desktop scores, but I'm not too sure. |
Oof. That makes me feel a little better about my Vertex 1. Ya gotta test them in the same system to give comparison results, especially since the Vertex 1 is on a 2006/2007 controller. |
Might be the difference in system, my system right now couldn't get good write results (went from 4.3mb/s to 80mb/s :haha:) until i changed my ICH10 controller to IDE (it was on AHCI before). |

The Vertex is slower than the Vertex 2 regardless, maybe just not by as much as portrayed here. |
While the difference is not as big as shown here, it is significant none the less. Also noteworthy is the 60GB vertex is slower then the 120 vertex 1 (which would have been a more apples to apples comparison). This does artificially increase the perceived difference between the two. ;) With all that said. Thank you for sharing your data. Always good to get MORE pov's on a given issue :) |
Vertex 1 120GB is almost as fast as Vertex 2 120GB 2 Attachment(s) I have flashed latest version 1.6 turbo on my Vertex SSD disk. Only the writing speed is lower then Vertex 2, reading is equal. :punk: |
