Default Can't Get 5870 Vapor-X Passed 900MHz

I'm using MSI Afterburner because RiveTuner has no 5xxx support yet. No matter what AB won't let me go passed 900MHz. I go to set it to 950MHz for example and when I hit apply it goes back to 900MHz my current Overclock. I tried setting it to 901MHz even and no joy!

Is this a safety feature or something that can be turned off? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

did you UNLOCK the overclock in the .ini ? (look into the MSI Afterburner folder, there's a .INI, and there's a setting that is =0 that read something like ForceOC or something. Put that to =1 and reload the software

(it's near the end of the file)

Why aren't you overclocking with the Catalyst Center?

My Vapor-X can OC properly both the core and memory if I use CCC...

He's trying to go beyond 900 MHz, which is the max that CCC will allow for this card.

ah then the only way would be either a modified firmware for the card or... there is a program, hopefully someone else knows the name that will let you set it farther but doing so will disable the power saving downclocking the card does at idle.
