Default Not New To OCing, But New To OCing A i7

Just like the title states. I'm going cross-eyed going over the Asus BIOS. Is there a prerequisite for settings that should/must be turned off before I attempt any OCing? Anyone else have the same mobo out there that can give me some advise? Thanks guys/gals.

Also, not really related but with 12MB of RAM is a pagefile even necessary? (Windows 7 Ultimate x64)

Core i7 Overclocking Guide For Beginners - Clunk's Forums.

Maybe try these two links- the ASUS bios is pretty straight forward and the average i7 OC guide should get you through. Post any specific questions you have though.

the second link has some recommendations for bios setting to enable and disable.

Good luck

you don't need it. people disable it with 6 gb, some at 4gb , but I found it border line,

as for the Gene, well give me few day , and we will be able to compare, my barbs and other missing WC stuf will be ship today, but I have a card in my hand that change all the game, my CPu is unlock

I say compare not compete

I have not yet OC my Gene , I just buy it last week from Shaw, I wait for my parts to finish to mount it. I order a NB block , it's coming from Florida by snail mail

Yeah the NB get's fairly hot on the GENE, but this little b!tch is a OCing powerhouse!

I'm trying hard now for 4GHz stable. I can post and load windows with a few settings tweaks, so I hope I can really work harder to achieve that.
