Successful 550 unlock (i think)

well i finally got to it today, Decided it was time for some extra juice. I unlocked my 550 on my m4a785td-v evo and i think it was a success . All four cores seems to be installed and running though i'm not sure how stable they are.

At first it was unstable for sure, i tried to play some crisis warhead to see and as it was loading my pc restarted. So through cpu z i upped my voltage to 1.4 volts from 1.35 and first ttry seem to do the trick. I was able to play crisis and it not only loaded a bit faster but even might have help the in game performance a bit though my over clocked 5670 is my bottle neck. Anyhow i played warhead for about 15 minutes and then after that i tried testing my windows scores to see if it would upgrade and what do you know my cpu score went from 6.5 (st0ck 550) to 7.3(stock b50 unlock) and my ram scored even jumped a decimal to 7.5 forom 7.4 if this unlock even had anything to do with it. I noticed my tempurature were out of wack(-258) when i checked them in amd overdrive though i could get a reading in bios, but i think this is normal. Still have to up my voltage through bios so its permaenant but 1.4 volts seemed to do it

So what do you guys reccomended i use to further test the stability on this thing? it seems stable , lets find out if i got lucky

and another thing, am i supposed to disable cool n quiet? I never did it but my machine never blew up


i see alot of people on the internet saying disable cool n and quit as one of the step and some even say your machine wont post unless you do so. Well i didn't and everything is dandy so far, should i immediaetly ?

Shouldn't matter, my CnQ is enable and I been running B50 x4 since launch date. but I am only running it at 3.4ghz + stock volts.

550's ftw, performance of a E8400 for 100$ even if it doesnt unlock, if it does, pwnage! great performance per dollar either way
ive built 4 systems with them so far, 2 have unlocked stable, 1 did not(did not try any extra voltage), and 1 i haven't tested yet

I've typically done x4 and 1.475v to 1.525v at 3.8ghz with these processors.

I do 24 hours of testing using 2 copies of Orthos (one for 0 and 1 and one copy for 2 and 3). I finalize it with a test using Folding@Home. I use the least amount of voltage I can that still passes these 2 parameters.

Some will say my method is overkill but these machines run 24/7 and don't lock up or have problems.

Yea, back in june 2009 I just wanted a cheap O 4ghz dual core. Man I was furious that its such a piece of shit that can't do 4ghz. Max was 3.9ghz at 1.55volts I was like OMFG so close to 4ghz and its not .

Then when I saw a thread at XS, about these chips unlocking. Then I was like WTF a quad for $120

Odd little chip, what ever is sable in 2 core, its the same for 4 I swear its a 955BE


P.S man these AMD boards suck for ram timing. Lowest cas is 5

Are you still on a 32 bit OS? I find that 64 bit OSs only overclock so far with C&N enabled before there are all sorts of random crashes and stability problems.
