My System Specs

Default i7 920 OC on EVGA X58 Classified

well have finally tested out my OC, I know it isn't any high clock but got it to
3.4ghz Prime stable, temps seem good and I think the voltage's are decent
can't really judge as its my first real OC.

I am currently running Prime 95 for the 3rd time just to triple check it and so far no errors at all
haven't really played with the ram at all so we will see how it goes, let me know if you think I should change something or try something

You should easily be able to get another 600MHz out of it. Using a classified for such a low clock is kind of a waste of its vast overclocking power.

Looks good, no setting to change for 3.4 Ghz, simply enable "Dummy OC" in the BIOS ;)
Looking at your Sig your running 2000 Mhz RAM...wow...get that stuff running at the default speed.

Try:
Bclk 200 Mhz
Mult x 20 (disable Turbo Boost)
This will be a 4 GHz OC

Memory Ratio 2:10 (this will run your RAM at spec 2000 Mhz)
Timings 8-8-8-24 74 (may have to tinker with this)

Initially try vCore 1.325v
Vtt +150mv
vDIMM 1.65v

Give it a go, test and tinker with settings, keep us posted

the only reason I have stopped there at the moment is fully test stuff out and make sure I don't have to RMA anything, as well as the orientation on my NH-D14 is less than optimal in my opinion
I had it up to 4gz stable but it was running at high 80's to low 90's, which I am assuming is because of the less than optimal air cooling potential in the 800D, I will upload some pictures to image shack soon
to show how it all looks nicely packed into the monstrous case (which I love). Is it really optimal to run a 4ghz OC 24/7 though?

dummy OC on my board only put it to 3.2ghz.

Pretty warm alright, mine got to around 78c - 82c Full Load at 4.2 Ghz. TRUE 120mm Push / Pull and the..Silverstone TJ09 is a great case for Air Cooling as well ;)

not the greatest Case for Air Cooling thats for sure - designed for WC.

No problem at all provided your Temps are in check and your vCore isn't rediculously high (as in 1.45v and above).

Try:
Bclk 170 Mhz
Mult x20 (No Turbo)
Memory Divider 2:12

That will get you your 3.4 Ghz OC and get that damn good memory running at what its meant to be run at 2040 Mhz (slight OC)

Here's is an example of an OC Template for mine / your Board, feel free to use it when you're looking for help (presently has my 24/7 settings) .... ;)

Dude, if you only crank that puppy to 3.4ghz, I'm mailing you my chip, and you're sending me that D0.

Its NOT going to rot at 3.4ghz. Thats akin to something sacrilegious.

lol no its not going to rot at 3.4ghz, as I had, well at least I thought I had said, I am
still relatively new to OC'ng so taking it a little easy to start with, my cooling situation is what has me worried, I don't want temps above 85C and even then I feel that that is too high
I really can't wait till I can afford to and well have the guts to go water cooling.

Currently I have it running at 3.6ghz but needs a lot more tweaking,

rj - thanks for the template will try that out sometime tomorrow, probably around 3pm before I have to pick up daughter from daycare.

85C isn't bad. But I wouldn't go much higher than that. You aren't going to kill your CPU from running at the temp.

^^^ Yeah its been awhile, so monkeying around with my I7 OC again.
200 Blck x 20 Mult (no Turbo) 4Ghz
2:8 Memory 1600 Mhz

Seems I have to disable vDroop
vCore 1.3875 in BIOS
1.41v under load
vTT +250mv = 1.5v under load

Cold probably "enable" vDroop but I would have to push about 1.43v to the Chip......

Max Temps with Real Temp running LinX 82c on 2 of the 4 Cores

Huge difference in vCore from 200 Bclk x 19 Mult (3.8 Ghz) to 200 Bclk x 20 Mult 4 Ghz

...........damn C1 / CO stepping Chip ;)

EDIT: LinX just errored out after the 3rd Cycle, likely even more vCore required, I know I messed with 4Ghz quite awhile ago, but settled on the 3.83Ghz due to a huge jump in vCore and Temps.
