My System Specs

Default i7 d0 4.2ghz

Hey everyone! i got 4.2ghz on my i7 d0 stepping
CPU-Z Validator 3.1
i even got my memory to 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 :)
now i think my CPU vcore is a bit high though, its at 1.35v
my temps are about 47c idle and 85 was max i saw with Intelburntest set to max
So far i have had no instabilities, i ran a couple things like Intelburntest and Hyper pi
what do you guys think?

is 85'c not a little bit hot ? what are you using for cooling ?

85C is still within the "safe" boundary. I'd lower the overclock for 24/7 use though personally.

Personally I would not let my CPU run at this temp but that in the ok zone. Always depend on the user;) Nice to see this memory running this fast! now get faster memory and go higher:P

get a better cooler
i got the megahalems and i get 80c @ 4.5 while priming

I have Corsair h50 with push pull setup, and yea intel burn test is hotter, i get around 80 with prime95, i may try to drop voltage to see if i can get it a bit cooler

85C with IBT is definitely not a problem. if it don't bounce of the rev limiter, it is fine. keep in mind, during every day use, your system will absolutely NEVER see the load that IBT puts on it...unless you crunch or fold. even still, those programs will be less heat than even Prime which likely will keep them well below 80C which is completely safe. sounds like you have a stable and good overclock, leave it there and enjoy the system is my advice.
