Just an update. I put a Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus on last night and decided to play some more to up the clock (Wanted to get to 3.6ghz) but getting the fsb over 345 seems futile even at lower multi tryed 6 and 7x. looks like the wall is much lower then I had hoped, However this cpu does hit 450x9 4050mhz with just 1.385 v on my striker Extreme 10hrs occt stable.

Maybe I am missing something to get the g31m-es2l to go to a 400mhz fsb?

Any advice would be helpful.

wow turns out this MB has the biggest FSB hole I have ever come across...from 341-419 lol boots fine @ 420x9 but then i have mem problems my crap Patriot blade ram maxes out at 835 so 840 is just too high.
and I hate messing with the ram timing...just a good excuse to go get some 1066 or better ram. but hey I have the board booting into windows at 3.78ghz @ 1.28 actual vcore! Too bad my ram falls flat on its face.

but a 78mhz fsb hole...non the less I am happy with the results..stupid ram it is always the part holding me back.

Wait, so you have a FSB hole from 341Mhz to 419Mhz? It's pretty common....Or was...

Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS?

yeah I have the newest bios f9c, I find it ironic because on the box it states 1600fsb (with oc) but the board is incapable of 1600mhz but it will do 1680+.

I know this isnt something many of you will get exited about. but if you consider the money spent. it is mildly impressive.

I think that's pretty cool.. If you don't mind me asking. Is this a mATX build or did you just pick that mobo because it was cheap?

Right now I am sitting 100% stable (3 hrs OCCT 8 hrs prime 95) 393.8x9 1.32 vcore.

I did get a new board...I almost wish I didnt tho, I got a MSI P7N-SLI Platinum......the fsb has so many holes...I am pretty sure someone shot it a few times with a 12gauge, It takes forever to poke around the bios and find a fsb that isnt a hole lol. I hope to trade it for a p35-ds3r tonight or tomorow....750i is just poor for oc'ing quads.
