Default HD4870 Memory clock questions

Just a few questions for today.
Got my 4870 under water, just the core though.

I'm wondering if there's any limit on the clocks I should know about?
Like how the 8800GT was not recommend to run above 1GHz on the memory, are there any limitations with the 4870 as long as my temperatures are fine?

What are the limits for the memory and the core?

So far doing 850/ 1100, which is stable with no artifacts. Core is maxed out, artifacts any higher, but the memory can still go a bit further.

That being said, as long as my temperatures are fine, can I push the card until it crashes in games? Or, like I said before, is there a limit?

Temperatures are 44C load for the GPU and 50C for the memory under these conditions.

I should mention that even though GPU-Z tells me these values, I'm curious as to why when I touch the ramsinks after the computer is shut down after some insane L4D, they're super hot! It feels like you can cook eggs on them or something (temperature wise).

Thanks for the help guys.
