Default Nvida nTune

I download Nvidia nTune to monitor temps on my computer. I noticed that it has the ability to run a session to determine the best overclock for your CPU and memory. Would anyone trust this to try it or do you think I will burn myself if I try it?

I believe the word over on "the street" when I had my Ultra-D was to "absolutely not!!!!" use Ntune for auto OC on that board / chipset combination.

They didn't play nice together, but I don't remember if it was hardware or driver related....

I took that to heart and didn't use Ntune for anything other than checking temps.

How's the OC going so far?

It's on hold till I get my aftermarket HSF I don't want to up the vcore until I get a better HSF. I'm running it stock for now to ensure it is stable enough.

It was tempting to try and use it but as that old saying goes "Nothing in life that is worth doing is worth doing the easy way".

I have also heard on the street that Ntune is NOT THE SOFTWARE to use when trying to OVerclock and such. I did have it on my system, and I did create a profile for gaming. I ran the 3hr test to OC the system and such. The computer would lock up two minutes into the game after I had loaded the profile and tried to play.

I downloaded CORETEMP and I use that to monitor the CPU's.. and I use ATItool for the GPU temps...... but again this is just one mans opinon, and usually even that gets changed by my girlfriend!!!

The Thermalright SI-128 with a Antec Tri-Cool 120mm RED LED fan. The fan is $12 and the stats on the fan are:

High 2000rpm - 79 CFM - 30dba

Medium: 1600rpm - 56 CFM - 28dba

Low: 1200rpm - 39 CFM - 25dba

Since I don't plan on using the fan control and have it on high I think those are pretty good stats.
