Looking good!!! AFAIC those temps are fine. You've got the right idea by taking "baby steps" with your OC, especially since you are a first time OC'er. Not only will you not risk pushing your gear too far too quickly, slow steps will let you learn about the different steps to achieving the best OC for your current setup. Too many folks see reviews where a cpu is popped into a new motherboard and within minutes is screaming along at a 75% OC and think that's how it's supposed to work..... What they miss is that the CPU and Mem combination are well known to the reviewers so they know exactly what the can expect from it, and what kind of settings / voltages they need to get there. Sorry for being long winded, but it's great to see somebody taking their time.... :)

I see there is a definite problem with the 12V+ line sensing within Speedfan - shows as 9.82V??? I remember that the Voltage sensing was screwed on my rig too. Within the BIOS, what's you CPU voltage set to? Because everything looks fine to me, especially temps. As soon as you have instability, bump the VCore a notch, restart and check temps. John |

Thanks guys, taking anything other than small steps seems pretty crazy to me. Plus for me it's also more exciting to watch the seconds drop on my SuperPi score each time I reboot .VCore in the BIOS is set to 1.356...kind of a random number I guess. I have a feeling it could go a lot lower than that, but I could be wrong.

If you lower your VCore, you need to re-test. It will be a good thing for your temp though. But first I would leave that VCore as-is and go as high and stable as possible. If you haven't oc'ed your Ram yet (running un-linked?), you haven't seen the best SuperPi scores yet... @sswilson: 3.58V? For the 12V? |

I don't know what it is but I have a bad feeling about OCing the RAM. It's only a pair of OCZ platinum rated for 800MHZ. If I run them at a 1:1 ratio then I can run my cpu at 3.2GHz. How much can I really expect from that RAM? 3.58V for 12V!

And yeah, that's 3.58V recorded by speedfan on the 12V line.... that's a hell of a lot of Vdroop!!!!! :)

Alright, so I've been pushing this chip more, and I'm still going with it. Just wanted to update and see what others are doing with this chip. Right now I'm hitting 3300 MHz Orthos stable. I'm pretty happy with it since it's my first time, and I'm excited to see what more it can do! Under load:
