Overclocking E6420 and DFI P965-S on water.. need some tips

ok after 30 minutes on orthos blend i am seeing 54 degrees..

That's on par with what I was getting @ 1.55.

just curious, what is your system temp in system guardian?

I am reading 42-45 depending on ambient. From what i understand the temp is actually coming from the southbridge.. i originally thought there was a sensor to pickup the case temp but with no case/open side i still see high temps. going to pull the heatsink off and put some artic silver ceramique on there..

I'm not sure what the "system temp" is reading since there is also a temp for northbridge.

A word of caution though..... might be my board was wonky for some reason, but when I removed the northbridge heatsink I needed some fairly thick Tim to put it back on. Thin stuff wouldn't make contact with the heatsink.

i hit 3.4ghz with 1.65 v.. dropped it back down to 1.55 and running at 3.2 now.. wish i got a better chip but this is fairly good i guess..
