My System Specs

Default Overclocking a GTX275...

I've started messing around with my GTX275.
Came factory OC'd to 648/1458/1188.

First I upped it to FTW speeds... 713/1512/1260.
Tested with Furmark and all seemed good.

After a bit more messing around, I have it up to 735/1593/1277.
For some reason I can't type in shader speed like I can with the others.

Where should I go from here?
I'm learning, and my card looks like a decent OC'er, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.
What problems should I be looking out for?
How far should I try to push it?
Is Furmark really a good test, or should I try something else?
I planned to run Vantage after I get my highest stable clocks in Furmark.

10 mins of Furmark and temps are around 80c with fan @ 100%.

**edit**
I'm using EVGA Precision to OC

If you are using EVGA's Precision software, there is an option to unlink the core and shader frequencies.

Yeah, it's EVGA Precision... core and shader are unlinked.
I still can't type in the shader speed.

**edit**
closed/re-opened precision and it works fine now .

Are you sure its unlinked, i used evga percision a bit to get my settings to 733/1600/1232 but i put it back to defualt, i didnt see the need to overcloack, its not like any games currently push the gtx 275 when its running stock speeds.

I doubt I'll run it like that 24/7, but its fun to play around.

Some of the graphics programs I use may run better with it OC'd.
Once I get it folding I'll probably want to run OC'd for that too.

Mostly, I'm just doing it for the hell of it.
It's 12:30am... I'm full of coffee and bored out of my mind...
Why not have a little fun?

This is where you run 3DMark06 and Vantage, OC your CPU and RAM as well to get the highest score possible and then you sign up for HWBot!

Don't know if I can get a score worth uploading... I'll try though.
Can get my CPU stable enough for Vantage @ 4GHz...
My RAM isn't very good so I'm kinda scared to push it much.

Hey, I personally believe OC'ing is pushing your hardware to its limits! That is all the fun right there! E.g. If it doesn't run at 1500MHz.... set it at 1499MHz and try again...

Show us what you got!
