Default Curious about Vantage scores

Hey, I just got my second GTX 260 SC Core 216 card, and threw it in for my SLi setup last night.

At the moment, I am running a Q6700, not OC, want to up my cooling a bit , since previous attempts got pretty hot around 3.4, 4 gigs of OCZ ram at 1066, stock timings, all on a Evga 750i FTW mobo.

So I just ran 3d mark vantage after uninstalling and reinstalling the newest drivers from Nvidia, and my results are:

ORB - Compare

Just wondering if this seems ok for this system, I was thinking I would get more like 17k plus in the graphics, but I mean I am still new and the cards aren't overclocked yet, so just curious, still new with Overclocking and such.

Also, in certain games I played before I got the 2nd card, (WoW , Farcry 2, and a few more) WoW would never drop below 60 fps maxed out with one card, maybe to 50 for a couple seconds but nothing major, I'm noticing drops to 30 or so now, why would that happen ? Is it because of enabling Physx on the cards? I am not entirely sure.
Tried playing the new game Cryostasis which I got free with my new card, and it has some severe graphic lag in parts, any ideas?

Any info or advice would be awesome, thanks everyone.

Your stock CPU is going to hold back your Cards a little alright as well as hold back on a good CPU Score in Vantage.
If you can jack that CPU up to around 3.4 - 3.6 Ghz you should see some significant gains...
I believe your score is fine considering the CPU and SLI arrangement...

Ok thanks if I do get it running at around 3.4 , when i was running Prime 95 it would just freeze the comp a couple minutes in, would upping the voltage help with that ? What kind of temps would be my limit with the q6700, under load, I don't really want to damage it, I think it was getting around 60 *c under load.

I'm not familiar with that chip...if you post your full system specs I'm sure some Q6xxx CPU guys will chime in with some OC'ing help.

yes a little voltage can help and this might too just remember that the max temp they give is for the ihs of the cpu not the cores Intel® Core?2 Quad Processor Q6700 - SLACQ

Ok well I am running

Coolermaster 690
Corsair 750TX PSU
Evga 750i FTW
2x 2 GB OCZ PC2-8500 Reaper HPC (Probably going to get 4 more of this soon) Running at 1066
Old 500 gb WD HD
Q6700, at stock settings
2x Evga GTX 260 Core 216 SC Stock
TRUE 120
No extra cooling, just what was stock on the CM690
Samsung 22" Syncmaster.

If any other info is needed , let me know, I know I may have to add a couple fans for when I OC it, but if there is any advice from some fellow Q6xxx 'ers , I would really appreciate it .

Thanks

Hrm.... you're seeing 60c load temps at stock CPU volts with a true???? Something's not right with that picture.... I'm thinking you need to reseat your HSF.

Everybody's comfort level varies, but the Q6 series of chips are pretty resiliant. My own personal comfort level is max 65c on absolute full stress, and 60c for 24/7 stress. (although my Q6600 currently maxes out at 60c full stress).

I was getting 60* when I was overclocking, right now, with stock clocks and voltage I get 44 or so on full load, I am going to add some more fans here, before i start doing anymore Overclocking, 44 on stock chip would be normal would it not ? I could always reseat the HSF but I thought that was somewhat normal
