Default Only 8500 on 3DMark 06 WTF ?? Plz Help!

Hey guys, I've built this killer rig and finaly had time to benchmark it, i'm only getting 8500-9000 on 3DMark 06: Heres the components:
C2D E4300 & C2D E6600 - Both scoring ranges average 8500-9000 regardless of being stock or OC'd ?!?!?
Asus P5W DH Deluxe. 2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-1066 @ 4-4-4-10 2:3 (I get the same score when i use my 2GB Mushkin EM2 DDR2-667 ?!?!)
2 X Seagate 160GB SATAII in RAID0
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB Stock. Running 158.42
Running Vista 32-bit ultimate (could this cause it?!?)
I've tried RivaTuner to push my vid-card about 20% OC'd and i can reach 9500 in 3DMark06. I know people with the same config hittin' 12K, What Gives?? I've got Water Cooling and a L628B E6600 i'd love to crank this baby up!!
I'm completely open to suggestions, cheers!

Those scores seem about right for a stock 8800 GTS ... You need a pretty serious OC on the 8800 GTS to hit 12K ...

8500-9000 is a good score for a stock setup. Expecting to hit 12k is a pretty lofty goal, not many people hot 12k with a 8800GTS.

I still haven't hit 11k with my setup, similar to yours. The highest I have hit is 10700. Futuremark - ORB - Project Comparison

That seems pretty good to me. The most I have gotten out of my 7950 GX2 is 7300ish.

I hit ~8000 pts stock with my PC (01) setup in sig...

I need close to a 675 core speed (~1000mhz RAM speed) to hit 12k in 3Dmark.

Also, drivers mean everything. Newer drivers will add upwards of 1.2k pts compared to the drivers on the disk.

with my sig rig I hot a 3dmark06 score of 10700 (yes in vista lol). I've been reading up to on more optimal 8800 card overclocks so im gonna see if I cant push it up higher but thats a good score, puts my am2 4200 computer that sleeps in my closet to shame.

With that am2 4200 and a stock 8800gts it only gets 6800 in 3dmark 06 lol.

Thanks so much you guys, i needed that feedback. If you guys have any quirks/tweaks that apply to my particular setup they'd be greatly appreciated. I used that RivaTuner to tune my 8800 GTS to about 620/875 stable and had CPU at 3.33ghz RAM @ 1100 CAS5, but Still' cant break 10K. What a kick in the junk.

Logikal,
keep in mind that when you OC a 8800GTS and you crank up the Core clock, it automaticaly cranks the shaders clock also. So OCing the core of thaese cards gives a good boost. I say that because you OCed (quite conservatively) to 620. Don't be shy to try up to 650 and see how it goes.
