Thanks for the inquiry! I haven't had a lot of time to fiddle with it. Work and Star Trek got in the way, and now this weekend I'm in Toronto visiting some friends (and buying a HAF from Canada Computers ).

Its sitting 24h stable 333x9 at 1.1v. This board is VERY picky with its memory holes. Basically I can select 5:4 or 3:2 or 1:1 as the only straps, or 'unlink' the board and plug in my own numbers, and even then the straps dont all play nice. Again, for a recap, I had this chip and ram running stable at 377x9 (3.4ghz) stable, with the ram set at ~950mhz (I dont remember the exact speed, it was above 925 and below 975) on my P5K-Deluxe. Any combination of FSB/RAM at or lower then my 'old' stables and this mobo goes crazy. Its almost getting to the point where its frustrating, which is why I left it at 333 (I think the ram sits at 880ish) stable. Just so I could use the pc.

Its a picky board, and I'm actually learning a couple things about OC'ing that I didnt know before, like how important those memory straps really are on C2D/Q's.

I'm sure some vet overclocker would probably walk in, take 10 min and have this chip running at 3.6-8 and make me feel stupid . Instead, I'll just keep pluggin away

Atleast I'm getting a HAF out of the troubles?

hmmm, sounds interesting. Could you fill me in on your discoveries regarding those straps?

I gave up on the 680i Striker Extreme. It just wasn't playing nice with overclocking at all.

I went back to the P5K-Deluxe. The only downside to this is the fact I'm locked to Seagate HDD's and PCI-e 1.0 specs

Based upon 3.0Charlie's advice, I just jacked my vCore to 1.425, P35 volts to 1.3 (I think stock was 1.2) and set the FSB to 400, ram auto'd to 4:5 at 1000mhz (stock volts 5-5-5-15 800mhz). She posted at 3.6ghz and is currently 5 hours prime stable right from the get go with no further tweaking. I'll start raising the FSB, and try to keep the vCore the same, tomorrow, after a good 12+hours prime stable. Atleast I'll know its rock-solid at 3.6ghz if I cant hit 3.8.

If it doesnt, I'm VERY happy with the extra 200mhz, but Id like to push for that magic 3.8 number . Its a 1.2vid chip, so I might be lucky. Temps will be my only bane, I think.

Speaking of temps: They are a bit wonky, or at least I think... Goes from as low as 54c up to 60c (max, hasn't crested above 60) while prime95 is running. Is it normal for watercooling to bounce when you start to overclock this high?

Depends on what prime95 is doing, run realtemp and watch the cpu usage and see if when the temps drop it corisponds to processor usage drop. Its probubly just your W/C loop cooling the CPU down quickly when theres less load on it.

What kind of calculations are you doing with P95? The program claims that "In-Place Large FFT's" generates maximum heat, but the temps will bounce around some. Furthermore, I've been finding that small FFT's actually gets things hotter and the temps are more stable.

I was doing a Blend test, 11 hours stable. I'll move it over to a small-fft test now, and see how that does.

Ran F@H overnight while it was doing blend, tempts capped at 62, avg was around 58. Going to shoot for 3.8 after work!

Yes, if you're using blend (I use it for my long stability test) then your max temps will vary by a fairly wide margin.
