Default SLI Temp differences

System in sig

My second card is running at 73c idle, while the first card (where my monitor is plugged in) is at 55c. I'm running my fans at 25% for web surfing.

Any ideas why there would be almost a 20c difference?

Probubly distance from cool air sorce, I know my SLI rig listed bellow runs about 10c difference or so between the cards but usually they both get pretty close to leveled out under load. if your worried about it you can mount another fan blowing cool air into the hotter card. Either that or maybe the heatsinks on the 2nd card arent very well seated.

Switch the placement of the two cards, so you can see what it is... if card A (73c) switches to approx (55c), then you know its the airflow

73c is wayyyyy to hot for idle my friend..why in the world are you running your 285's at 25% fan speed..regardless of "web surfing"...minimum those Cards shoould be running with fan speed for web / idle is 40 - 50%.
Here are my Fan setting profiles:
1. 50% idle
2. 70% less intensivegaming
3. 85% heavy 3D gaming
Myb idle Temps both Cards 39c
Heavy Load Temps 76c

3 Profiles...never 25%, even "Auto" Precision sets 40%!!..Jack up your fan speeds man...also, poorairflow is why your one card is so warm...my Cards differ in temp by 6-8c at the most as my top Card is adjacent to my Northbridge.

So I've set the fans to Auto, and I'm getting 44c and 53c...still a huge variance. Tonight I'll switch the cards and see what happens...
