Default Call of Duty 4 Performance w/ 8800GT+e8400 cpu: is OC'ing worth it?

So my main performance concern is gaming. Right now I have the rig as stated in my sig and have managed to get a stable overclock at 3.825 GHz . I have also been OC'ing my 8800GT to 690 core/1650 shader/975 memory.
As it stands right now I run CoD4 at 1680x1050 at pretty much max settings save for no AA. With the OC though I was running 4xAA and maintaining 80-90fps...except for maps with grass... If I'd go onto a map that had prettier environments my fps would shoot down to 50. not good.
Is there anything I can do with this combo to get a little better performance?
Right now I turned all my stuff back to stock as it didn't seem to be affecting the performance in any big way at all. I noticed that there is a PCI-E clock in the bios that every thread I read said to keep it at 100 when OCing so you wouldn't fry the card.
Is there something you can do with this to get some more juice or am I getting the max I can with this combo?

Thanks.

you can turn it up by 1mhz increments to help stabalize an overclocked on a gpu but be very careful cause you can fry your card ( i myself have not seen any advantages in fps at all i mean we are talking an increase of like 5 to 15 frames normally )

If you want COD4 to look and play smoother and better, go to a very graphically challenging map, figure out what your lowest FPS is. I'd recommend Downpour. The rain and grass make things pretty intense.

When you figure out what your max frame rate is, go out of the game into the menu. Hit the tild (~) key. Type this:

com_maxfps 60 (or whatever your LOWEST framerate is)

That will cap your frame rate at the lowest fps you get. This will stop the frame rate from jumping all over the place. Makes for a VERY smooth running COD4.

Here's a link to the guide for COD 2...same command line info though. Everything that worked in COD2 works in COD4.

TweakGuides.com - Call of Duty 2 Tweak Guide

There are TONS of ways to tweak COD4
