Just got this new E8500 nib E0 2 weeks ago... seems to be pritty good so far. I ve been messing around with it on my 790i ultra mainboard and hit 4.5 Stable the other day stable which was sweet.

I know the voltage is High... As you guys can tell im not to worried to push the volts through my cpus.

Specs:

D-Tek V2 1/2 water block
Thermochill PA120.3 Rad
Swiftech MCP655 pump
E8500 E0 Batch# Q833A068
Evga 790i Ultra mainboard bios p08
4gb 2x2 Reaper HPC pc3-12800
Corsair HX 620watt psu
9800gx2

Couple more pictures of my setup

Go read on xtremesystems.

A guy pushed a 45nm to extreme voltages and found it didn't have ANY negative effects on the chip.

Most of the stuff you hear is pretty biased and holds no truth.

I don't think thier is a whole lot of "evidence" out thier yet as to how much Voltage will kill these E8xxx Chips...I was frakin out a year ago using 1.45v...thing has been going strong since...even had it at 1.55v for awhile to get to 4.25Ghz...no ill effects....time will tell I suppose, but at a couple of hundred bucks for a Chip........no biggie, unless a couple of hundred bucks menas no rent $$$....if so..back it off.

Ive had 4 of these chips... I killed the first 2 of them with VTT or fsb voltage any fsb over 1.45v and vtt voltage for the intel mainboard over 2v will kill these cpus in the short term and this is from experiance. my last chip which was a C0 stepper ran 9 months no problem at more than 1.59v 1.35vtt 1.4fsb voltage 24hr stable np @ 4.275ghz but that was on my old maximus formula Se.

Also Keep your temp below 50c under load this helps also.

there only one way to say this if it needs the volts give it some more.

I have never had to have my VTT higher than 1.3v and FSB Voltage was/ is 1.4v..........I too have heard of a few folks "killing" these Chips..but for an "everyday" OC of 4.05 Ghz and a vCore of 1.45v...? Suppose it could, but if you're jacking up VTT and CPU / FSB Voltage, yes, you'll likely kill it.
