My System Specs

Default AMD 5000 BE on my Gigabyte GA-MA790FX

I finally tried overclocking my CPU. I have only changed one thing (made the multiplier to 14x instead of 13x) and i am running at 2.8ghz now. I don't notice any performance improvement, but I would like to push it a little bit further. I don't really want to touch the voltage, but i will try bumping the multiplier up to 15x to see if it will run @ 3 gHz. I don't have a fancy cooler. just a thermaltake silent K8 80mm cooler.

I didn't think it would be that easy to make the cpu run a little faster

Overclocking with that cpu couldn't be easier.

First what cpu cooler do you have?

Secondly set voltage in bios to 1.4v increase multiplier to 16 boot and viola 3.2GHz thats it. You likely won't see anything higher you could try, but I wasn't able to get anything stable above 3.2GHz.

For your memory just make sure the timinings are as tight as possible 4-4-4-12 at 2.0v 2.1v should work.
