My first post so thought I would put up my latest 3dMark06 score. I am a semi trailing edge guy who buys HW oince it comes down from the insane level to the semi-reckless spender level So my vid cards are 8800GT's and 9600GT overclocked as much as I can get with after market cooling. The score of 14469 is from my main rig running a Palit 8800GT Sonic 1GB with a Danger Den Maze 4 GPU water block. Haven't volt modded it (yet) so 740MHz is about the highest I can go without artifacting in ATI Tool. Runs about 47C loaded on the core in a 26C room.Looking at a few reviews I am not "too" far off some of the newer cards (@ stock anyways) so I think I'll wait for the GTX260 to drop below $200 before my next upgrade.

That's a Great score for a 8800GT and a 3.0 Q6600. Best I could pull was 12725 out of my 2900XT with my CPU OC to 3.4Ghz.....now for something completely different. I got my 4870X2 last night most exellent and most hot (really hot) but everyone knows that. I throw the card in load the 8.8CCC and bam 13875 booooooooo. hardly even an extra 1000 points CPU stock..so I uninstall the card and old drivers clean out the registry and try again 15675 much better but not quite to my liking or expecations I tweek some more and end up with 16725 much better yet still not what I expected. After playing with my processor speed it seems I am suffering major bottlenecks boooo not only does my cpu score go up with my OC but my SM 2.0 & 3.0 and FPS go up way more. I guess its WC for me I just cant sit at that level with this card I figure I should at least get 18000 without to much fuss. But in this process I also tried out Vantage for the first time very very nice.

Yeah according to Gav that card is very limited by the CPU.

Yeah it's the awesome review I read here that helped push me into this card...and now I want an X48 and a coolit Boreas system but that's another story... I just didnt think the bottleneck would be so hardcore....cant imagine the waste of having 2 of these on any current non OC pc.
