You might want to run prime95 hrs instead of minutes.

Decent O/C with stock HS/F. Your PSU should be fine, unless you go nutso on O/Cing
the GPU, go H20/TEC/DICE/LN2...or add 1/2-dozen HDDs. That's actually a good PSU for the price.

hehe k, I'll run it hours, I didn't know if it would make that big of a difference. I'll post my temps here and the amount of hours later too johny :D

Yeah I thought it was a good oc too ehehehe. Thx tanker, I keep getting worried bout the PSU, that puts my mind at ease :)
I can notice the HSF going to maximum fan speed once the multiplier kicks it to 12.5, but its bearable. Since I'm not planning to go further than 3.6ghz, I might switch to a more silent HSF combination later on. Something that can maintain this clock speed, yet provide the same kinda temps :)

EDIT:: Does playing crysis for an hour or so count as stress testing? Because its probably the most intensive thing I would do, also I've set the mobo to shut down if the vcore goes about 80 celsius, so I shouuld be fine right? I just don't like the thought of keeping my PC on for hours to test stability. Electricity don't just come outta the walls ya know ;)

heres a pic of the cpu-z I like how the voltage is low :D Want this thing to last me a while.

I just wish I could lower the voltage incrementally instead of the +10% or +15% voltage increases. I'd like to know how low I can go with the voltages for 3.6ghz.

Once I get a better HSF I think I'll increase the fsb slowly and see how far I can get with my mobo's max 1.216v

man, wish I had reviewed this board before i bought it. The max +15% over voltage is limiting me.

I just tried raising the fsb to 300, 299 and 290.
300 and 299 failed in prime, but 290 was successful, guess that's the limit with such low voltages. Failure point must be somewhere in between there.

I think I'll keep it at the 288 for the even 3.6 :D its all good

How'd you do with prime95 for a few hrs? Also what are your idle temps?

Default E5200 o/c

Congrats Bucklaz, thats a very good o/c.
I have the same cpu and I'm very happy with my choice.
I got mine up to 3.3 but one core was always failing p95 after about 5mins.
A little more tweaking is required I guess.
I noticed from your screen shot that the speed step is on because your speed is like 1.7 @ 6x multi.
For my rig the volts never had to be touched.
As for a HSF, take a look at the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7.
$30 and the thing is silent, even at full tilt it makes less noise then the average optical drive burning.
At 3.1 o/c running p95 my temps never went over 50c...Idle is 32c in an Antec 300 with stock tri-cools at low.
Keep it up!

oh sorry, didn't realize you two responded lol :)

crazyhorseJohny, I've just recently run core temp twice. The first time was for 15 minutes, until I realised core 1 failed for some reason.... Then I ran it again for 40 minutes and everything seemed fine. Core temp never measured above 69 using the Inplace Large FFT Prime test. My idle temps, according to Core Temp 0.99.3 are 45c on core1 and 40c on core2.

Hey Enzo what is your e5200 at now man? I don't think I'll be upgrading my HSF, as I don't see the point. I cannot increase my voltage above what it is currently because of my silly mobo. And even though a new hsf will run more quiet, my hdd still croaks like a cricket. I think my temps now should suffice :). But if you guys seriously think its too hot, I may just have to save up for a Vendetta 2 or Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 like you suggested :D oh, and some arctic silver

edit: DAMNIT just ran prime again, and core 1 failed again. This cannot be good.... can it? Prime says:
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4921875, expected less than 0.4
then my core 1 shuts down

Should I be worried fellas? or can I just leave it. Everything seems to be running fine. I OC'd 1 and a half months ago, and I game regularily. I don't really see any negative performance.

Dang, just ran it again and I got the same kind of error after only 3 minutes of running.
Is it bad that I'm surfing the web while I run Prime 95?
Guess maybe I'll have to lower my OC, or find a custom bios for my mobo.

and another error, this thing is Not stable at all in the ftt tests

its not the ram, just did a mem test
