trodas`s SuperPi - 32M score: 46min 58sec 438ms with a Opteron 148 90nm

No overclocking yet, as this thing is pretty unstable ATM. I suspect rams (stable with one stick, not much stable with two, eg. the second one) and not recapped old PSU.

My System Specs

Red face

TomBo - holly...

But wait! Now we can compare CPUs at the SAME frequency!

48 min 4.047 sec
Pentium 4 650 3400MHz (200x17) 1.375Vcore
2048MB OCZP4001G 2-3-2-7 200MHz 2.60V
MSI PM8M3-V (VIA P4M800)
500G Western Digital 16MB cache (WD5000AAKB)
PNY 6800GT 256MB DDR3 350MHz/1GHz
19" iiyama ProLite E1980SD 1280x1024 75Hz DVI
DVDRW NEC DV-4551A (16x DVDRW)

So, at 3400MHz clocks, the i5 need 7:35, while P4 need 48:04 ... that is 6,53x faster - or simply more effective per clock.

...

Absolutely minimum gain in SuperPi is somewhat typical for P4 - from Pentium 4 540 at 3.2GHz 1MB L2: 48.45.890 to 48.04.047 with Pentium 4 650 at 3.4GHz 2MB L2 :( Suxx!
Twice the L2 and 200MHz more for what? 41sec in 48min times?! WTF!

A little bit futher - AMD 939:

26min 38.844sec
Opteron 148 2805MHz 255x11, 1.425Vcore CPU-Z Validator 4.0
2048MB OCZ OCZP4001G 2.5-3-3-7 @ 233MHz

trodas`s SuperPi - 32M score: 26min 38sec 844ms with a Opteron 148 90nm
(as seen, for SuperPi 1M I "get away" with TWR setting 2... for 32MB SuperPi I had to stick with 3)
