Thanks - I would have liked to get a stepping that does 3Ghz. Then I could really get the most out of this ram.

Temps:
~50-52C load
~25-27C idle

thats right now when its only 19C in my computer room. In summer it can reach 28C in here and I have to drop everything to ~2.2Ghz

Yeah, 3G on a 165 is the "holy grail", but honestly you can't complain about a 1.8G chip that OC's to 2.7.

Was that the max it looked like it would do, or did you back off a bit because of temps? (I had my 3700 up to 2900 on air, but I was getting low - mid 50's on load and waited until I got WC before pushing it any further).

I would have PM'd you, but I figured it wasn't that important - I just didn't want you to miss it altogether.

@K1ller_Instinct: If you could get your hands on a XP mobile cpu, you'd have an unlocked multiplier and you'd be able to run it at 2400 or 2500Mhz depending on the rest of your set up - which looks good BTW (Check out my Socket A rig - Blackmamba - in my sig)

@sswilson: my cpu just isn't stable past 2.8Ghz - also, the temps get up into the mid fifties if I up the voltage a bit. I personally don't think spending the extra $$$ on a WC kit would be worth it for me. From what I have read about this stepping, 2.8Ghz is the max. But I ain't complaining! a %53 overclock is nothing to squak about

Don't include me if this is an unfair entry.

58577/40586.. CPU was about 80C when stressed. Stressing for over an hour will result in 90C+ temps though, but still retains perfect stability.

DerekOldSchool - I'm just wondering if my cpu is unlocked already. I don't want to really mess with it cause the motherboard was designed for HP so God knows what proprietary **** they have done with the BIOS.
