Default WTF is going on with my 8400
So I folowed the instructions you all gave me to get my e8400 to 3.6GHZ but when I look at cpuz one minute it shows the right speed (3.6 and 9X multiplier) the next it shows 2.4ghz @6X what is going on here and how do i corect it? (two pictures of my CPUZ are attached):help:

Thats is speed step. It clocks down your multiplier when you are not under heavy useage. Leave it on, I do.

Find C1E and/or EIST options in the BIOS and disable them. Basically your CPU is throttling down when idle to save energy.

Seriously this is a common thing thats been asked about 100,000x and if you had clicked the search either on here or the ncix forum or even google you'd have a answer in 2 seconds.

Also I agree please choose better thread titles as they make you look like bad.
