I hope to start benching a bit tonight. It will give me a good break from the reviews....

You submit bench results in the different categories. There are 2 types of awards, hardware awards for each bench for a particular piece of hardware. For example if you have a 8800GT, there is a top 5 for 3dm 01, 03, 05, 06, AM3, etc. There are also global awards, whic is basically the top 5 results for particular benchmarks using any hardware. i.e. best spi 32M time for award.

But you dont need a top score to get points, it depends on the competition for each particular piece of hardware. What I do when Im about to bench is search hwbot by hardware item and check what scores I need to beat.
