Default X3350 (q9450) + Di

I got some dry ice on Friday for an overclocking session today. I was originally planning on overclocking my friends P4 630, but it didn't want to go too far. Whether the chip itself or the combination of a P4 and a P45, I just couldn't manage to get it any higher than 313MHz FSB. So I moved onto to bigger and better things, AKA my X3350. I wasn't planning on any benchmarkin, just pure CPU-Z (I was running low on dry ice by now). The current WR for X3350's is 4200.1GHz, also done under dry ice. I would boot up at 4GHz, and then use setFSB to increase the FSB until it crashed, or I beat the record. Before I give you the results, here is a picture of the setup, as well as playing around with the bit of DI left in the pot...

First the extra fun with the DI in my sink.

Putting hot water onto the remaining dry ice pellets. (I need to shave...)

Oh no the sink is overflowing!!

Blew all the "smoke" up into a nice cloud.

Letting it all settle. If you put your hand in this you can't see it when it is more than 2 inches deep.

And now for the setup:

Nothing spectacular. Still using the pot I bought from Eldonko.

Now for the results: *insert drum roll here*
hwbot.org - CanadaRox's CPU-Z score
CPU-Z Validator 2.1

I got to a max clock of 4187.49MHz, 12.61MHz from the world record. I couldn't manage to get any higher of a clock, and I didn't want to pump too much voltage in as I still need this processor and motherboard for regular desktop use. It was tough to give up so close to my goal, but maybe once I know I can afford to get a new processor I'll beat the record.

IIRC I was able to get it with around 1.525-1.5ish, and even with 1.6 I wasn't able to get any higher.

Very nice.

I've got to hop onto this extreme cooling trend...

What were you using VTT and PLL wise?

PLL was 1.9-2 and I think VTT around 1.5ish but I can't remember for sure.
