Default how much vid cards affect 3dMark

hehe, i can't believe how much the video card affects the score you get, I decided to run 3dmark without my 8800gts and instead used the built in 6150 card my computer has and wow the score droped, it went from 7200 with the 8800 GTS to 320 with the integrated 6150 card Is this normal, i mean is 3dmark really just mainly test on your video card?

well my last build was a AMD 3000+, 1 Gig of value Ram(lol) and a X850 xt pe.

and it scored 5600, now compare that to my new rig, C2D 6300, 2Gb G.Skill, 8800 GTS (320mb) and i scored 9942 with out any tweaking yet, that is bone stock after a fresh install of window and the drivers that came on all the disks

and you have to remember as well, if your using your onboard video, then you are using your Ram and CPU to Drive it, so yea i can see it affecting the score greatly

It will be interesting to see how much the additional ram affects the score.

im assuming it will make a pretty good difference, like my other post about this ram states im coming from 1gig of generic pc 4200 ram so its should make a difference, even if it dosen't show on my 3dmark score my games will be loving it lol.

ok, well with my new ram and my 8800 installed i reached 8000 in 3dmark. My next buy is either a new mobo so i can overclock my am2 4200, or a new 775 mobo and a e6600 lol.

Right on, now i would personally look at a new board, instead of forking out $$$ for a board and cpu

Your 3dmark went from 7200 --> 8000 with just the ram upgrade ?

Thats a decent jump :)
