Yup- I bought that LG at F.S. for 139 two weeks ago- I'm not usually a big LG fan, but options are few in that price range.

Although, I must admit, Blu-Ray in 1080p looks way better than just normal 1080i, it's much more sharper, color is more vivid, image is...crisp.

I heard Blu-Ray manufacturers like to boast that if you are watching a movie and a grenade blows up, you get to see every little piece of shrapnel flying through the air. I just thought: "Well, is anyone going to be sitting there 4 inches from their TV screen counting every little bit that is like 2 square pixels big? They pause it every half a second and count: 1,2,3,4,5... XD"
I don't need to as my 1080P display is adjustable from 35-150" :) But i can say that if someone were looking for a blueray player get a PS3 :)

Well i have but then again my setup is kinda rediculous. You would need to make sure of the following.

1. Your tv is a 1080P 120Hz or higher also called 24p.
2. Make sure your using an HDMI cable 1.3a would be best.
3. Also make sure the dvd content is a tru 1080 source not a remastered one. Choose a new release on bluray. Consider any recent new release such as ironman, kingdom of heavern or the upcoming dark knight release.

For those interested here is my hi def setup.

PS3 -> yamaha reciever -> epson powerlite 1080P UB Projector. (it's a 24p projector)

and thats why you don't see much of a difference. load that sucker up on a 1080 24p tv and there is a big difference.

That software it comes with is crippled. It doesn't support any of the HD audio codecs.

It really depends on the transfer. A good transfer can still look amazing on a 720p display. I watched Blade Runner on a 37" 720p display and it looked absolutely amazing.
