Default DVD Drive caushing blue screen of death ?

hi all,

I have a LG G-H20L-S10 SATA DVD drive and when I startup vista I get a blue screen of death !! But when I load XP it works fine. As any one encountered this sort of problem ? It really sucks I got to disconnect my drive to boot in Vista.

Thanks !

So what makes you think it is the optical drive that is causing the BSOD? Are you trying to boot into the different OSes using the disc or something? Not quite sure what you mean here.

I believe that he means that Vista works fine with the drive unplugged but blue screens when he has it plugged in, all the while it is fine in XP.

FrankyG, have you tried the newest firmware for that drive? You can find it at LG, here. Unfortunately I can't link it directly but using that page just select DVD-ROM (Writer) as the product and the OS to all, then use GH20LS10 as your subject. That will get you the firmware that they have for it.

At least that is where I would start.
