Did WFW 3.11 come on a CD?
???Have a brand new sealed package that I just found in my basement...did 3.11 ever come on a CD? I've only seen it on floppies...is this the real deal?

I believe it did as it neared end-of-life. Though out of the retail channel for years WFW has been available to the embedded applications channel until recently. I think I read somewhere that Microsoft is ceasing support to them finally sometime this fall.

No really I do.

Don't open it.

It's for sale. Go down to the BST forum. Really.

Yep It did, I have it on CD from an old Pentium 1 Computer that I had.

Yeppers, I've seen it on CD before, but the only copies I've come across were hardware specific OEM copies.

I think I may have an unopened Resource Kit for WFW 3.11 somewhere amongst the boxes. It was actually one of the better verisons of Windows in my opinion. It even had an extension to permit you running 32 bit apps - though it wasn't terribly robust.

That's an amazing find!

Perhaps my favourite part of Windows 3.11 was that one wallpaper with the chess pieces. I'm sure you all remember that one!
